CITY BREATHING, 2025
Oil on canvas, 120 × 150 cm.
Behind the Art Glasses
This painting began as a response to urban density and the quiet emotional weight that a city carries. I was drawn to how movement, noise, and architecture can become felt experiences rather than visible objects. The surface builds a space where atmosphere matters more than literal place.
The layers were developed slowly, allowing the composition to emerge through revision. I treated abstraction as a way to hold contradictions—tension and comfort, distance and intimacy, presence and memory—within the same frame. The marks are not meant to explain a location, but to echo how one lives inside it.
While the work remains non-figurative, it is rooted in observation. The colors and structural rhythm come from walking, waiting, and noticing how environments shape the inner body. The painting stays open, inviting viewers to locate themselves inside its emotional terrain.
